Rancho Vistoso falls in the Amphitheater School District, also known as Amphi or District 10. There are several different schools in the district, but we are focusing on the schools in the Rancho Vistoso attendance area. Oro Valley also has one of the top charter schools in the nation, BASIS, as well as 5 private schools and seven or so pre-schools.

Higher education is also readily accessible via the U of A, Pima County Community College, and other institutions. We have also included some tutoring centers on this page.

Higher Education

The University of Arizona

The first university in the state of Arizona, founded a full 27 years before the Arizona Territory received it’s statehood, the U of A offers 334 fields of study with degrees for bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate and professional. Included on the campus is the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine. The University has extensive research programs, excellent libraries, and winning sports programs and so much more at the beautiful campus just a mile northeast of downtown Tucson.

Pima County Community College

At Pima County Community College, you can earn an Associate’s degree, gather credits to transfer to another school, receive several professional certifications and much more. Convenient campus locations include the Northwest Campus on Shannon Road, located just under a 20 minute drive from Ranch Vistoso. They also offer online courses.

Originally founded over 30 years ago to provide working adults with local opportunities for higher education with flexible schedules, the University of Phoenix has greatly evolved into one of the foremost online and flexible universities in the world. Online learning has become increasingly popular, and will continue to do so. The University of Phoenix offers Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral programs. Tucson has two University of Phoenix campus sites, one on River Road and one on Craycroft if you prefer in person learning.
